Day 3: Thu Jul 24, 1997

 Checked my email, had breakfast, and we took off for Nebraska. I navigated us through the back roads to the interstate and then fell asleep (Sharleen was driving). When I woke up I tried to figure out where we were and found we were heading for the Chicago Loop (downtown). We got back on track and spent the day driving through the rolling hills of Indiana, Iowa, and finally crossed the Missouri River into Nebraska. We tried to exit at Omaha but the exit was not reachable due to construction so we continued to Lincoln. Tried to get a room at Motel 6 but they said that computers didn't work with their phones so we went next door to Travelodge. At first I couldn't get an outside line but once they enabled the line it worked ok. I made sure I could log in, tried briefly to figure out the really stupid dial-up program, it's really confusing and has needed options scattered all over, hidden in places that takes awhile to find. Didn't have time to figure it out if we wanted to catch a place to eat. Just missed an Indian restaurant that closed at 9:30. We ended up at some place in downtown Lincoln. Got to bed late again.
