Map of the pass
Channel 3 view of the data
Black areas are clouds.
Oregon
Hell's Canyon Area
The channel 3 image shows mostly cloudy conditions but the fires in
northeastern Oregon near Dale are still visible. Some of the weaker ones
in this area are not flagged on the hot spot maps. The central Idaho fire
is partly visible through the clouds. The three bright spots in Oregon
near the bottom of the channel 3 image are very likely noise in the signal
since that was near the end of the pass as seen from the
Channel 3 view of the data above.
Wyoming
Yellowstone
A fire is visible at the north edge of Yellowstone Park, just north of the
Wyoming border. Another small hot spot is seen to the northeast.
The lower part of the channel 3 image shows a lot of noise near the end of the
pass, one of the larger spots might be real but was too close the noise to be
sure. The earlier fire at the north end of Yellowstone lake still shows
faintly on the channel 3 image.
