This image was aquired by NOAA 12 at 01:02 UT over the western U.S. This was an evening pass, parts of Utah, Idaho, and Oregon are clear and have visible fires.

Hell's Canyon area

Color composite image using channels 1, 2, and 3.
Some fire continues in Hell's Canyon on the Idaho side. The smoke plume is seen spreading through the valleys to the east. Further east are what appear to be a number of small fires. The fire complex southwest of Hell's Canyon also continues to burn.

AVHRR Channel 3.

The hot spots are visible in this image. Only two small spots are seen in eastern Idaho, the color composite suggests perhaps a few additional small fires.


Southern Idaho
