TIMED Prelaunch Science Workshop
April 25-27, 2001
Boulder, Colo.
In anticipation of the launch (currently scheduled for Aug. 10, 2001) of the TIMED (Thermosphere, Ionosphere, Mesosphere, Energetics and Dynamics) spacecraft, the TIMED Science Working Group will hold its next meeting at the National Center for Atmospheric Researchs (NCAR) Mesa Lab, April 25-27, 2001, in Boulder, Colo.
This specific prelaunch meeting will be dedicated to initial science operations and developing collaborations with other space missions and ground-based observational teams with similar interests.
This meeting will be conducted in a workshop format. Discussions will include identifying collaborative scientific investigation topics, coordinating observational plans between TIMED, ground-based and other space communities, as well as planning for initial TIMED validation studies. General information regarding the TIMED mission and instrument measurement capabilities will be briefly summarized.
