Where is TIMED

Current Position

The global image on the left shows where the TIMED spacecraft is presently orbiting over the earth with solid and dashed lines giving its path just before and after, respectively. The image on the right shows the opposite side of the earth with the rest of the 97-minute orbital path.

The exact position along the orbital path and associated time are given in the upper left corner of the image. The images are updated every ten minutes, so the TIMED figure will appear to move along the path in steps roughly the size of that figure.

Past and Future Positions

The position of TIMED at any previous time in the mission, as well as any predicted future, can be displayed via the display tool.
