Online DMSP Satellite Track Viewer

Satellite tracks for the Air Force DMSP satellites are available here. To use this service, you must be using a web browser that supports frames and has Java enabled.

After clicking the CONTINUE button below, you will be taken to the page for entering the information needed for satellite tracking. On the form, select a satellite, date (1983 through 2000) and time of interest. Also select the spacing between tick marks on the plot and whether the track should be plotting in Mag or Geo coordinates. Once the information has been selected, click on either the PLOT button to generate a plot or the PRINT button to generate a table of values.

It takes several seconds to receive your satellite track plots and table. The plot will be displayed along with a table of the generated track information.

This satellite tracking utility acknowledges support from NASA grant NAG5-10971 (Simon Wing).

Note: The glat and glon information displayed are determined using the NORAD routines for the satellite number contained within the data file. If satellite data is not available for the time of interest, the plot will dispaly 'Data Not Available".
