OVATION
Funding for OVATION

The operational aspects of OVATION were funded by the UPOS program. Of course many years of more basic research (for example, in identifying open and closed particle precipitation regions) were required before the transition to operational status was possible.

The original underpinning research was funded (in approximate order of importance) by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR grants F49620-00-1-0172 and F49620-96-1-0009), by the National Science Foundation (NSF grants ATM-9729183, ATM-9909258, ATM-9531767, ATM-9713574 and ATM-9819805) and by NASA (grants NAG 5-3187 and NAG 5-7724).
