CCE Science Data Center (SDC)
The CCE Science Data Center (SDC), built around a VAXserver
3400 and several other VAX 3000-series workstations located at The Johns
Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, is the central,
dedicated data processing and analysis facility for the CCE. All
mission data have been processed into science analysis files and
archived (more than 120 Gbytes) at this facility. All scientific
computing and graphics generation by the CCE science teams is similarly
carried out at the SDC, with teams accessing the SDC either locally or
remotely via leased line, network, or dial-up connections. The SDC
allows each CCE scientist to access quickly and use all of the mission
data, ephemeris and attitude files, events and command logs, data
indexes, and a number of utilities designed to make data access,
analysis, and display easier.
