RUMS: Real-time Upstream Monitoring System

The following list includes the ten most recent IP shocks detected.

Shocks are detected by observing a sharp jump in the solar wind velocity or plasma density. Each shock is linked to a plot showing the time of "onset" (when unusual activity is first detected) and "shock" (when the shock arrived at L1). In addition, the real-time predictions of the time remaining until shock arrival are shown. The small gap between onset and the first predictions is due to the fact that the onset detector requires a certain amount of data to accumulate before it detects a given onset. Predictions are generated starting from the time the onset is detected.
